Autoimmune disease runs in my family and I have been exploring preventatives as I get older. I was intrigued by the idea of helping my body increase dopamine naturally, but not aware of the problems of supplying your brain with a strong dose of dopamine all at once or for an extended period of time. I'm sure this product would be great for someone actively battling Parkinson's disease or trying to cope with drug addiction recovery. In my experience, I felt effects pretty strongly after just a few days, at first just feeling like my depression had been alleviated and like I had a hormonal "stress cushion". My mind raced less, and I wasn't freaking out all day, even when work was busy. Great! However, after taking the full dose for a few more days I began to feel like I was taking a serious drug. I was overstimulated, and my brain on this supplement was so starkly different from it's normal baseline. Although I remained mostly clear-headed, I still was concerned with the potency of this supplement. I've since read that many L-dopa supplements contain much more of the active ingredient than the bottle indicates, because it's hard to test potency of it. I think people shouldn't buy this if you are just looking for a supplement. This is therapy grade medicine, and it's effects are strong! I think if you are trying to come off hard drugs or are using this for Parkinson's symptoms I would start with a half dose and cycle off of it periodically in order to avoid complications. It's also important to taper off of L-dopa instead of cutting this out cold turkey, as it does have withdrawal symptoms. Coming off of it myself I have been feeling anxious, very hot and cold, irritable and jumpy. None of the risks of withdrawal or dopamine disruption were advertised to me beforehand so I hope this review is helpful to curious buyers.
